With just one day of CES 2008 left, the blogs, technology sites and podcasts are packed with articles about the latest and greatest hardware, software and gadgets to hit the the streets in 2008, I wish I was able to cover more of CES or even visit myself. That goes for Mac world starting this week as well. However it is not possible. I will post a few articles that I think have captured the best from CES 2008 / Mac World 2008.

The Optimus Maximus OLED Keyboard
Optimus Maximus

Each key is a stand-alone display that shows the function currently assigned to it.

Optimus’s customizable layout allows convenient use of any language—Cyrillic, Ancient Greek, Georgian, Arabic, Quenya, hiragana, etc.—as well as of any other character sets: notes, numerals, special symbols, HTML codes, math functions and so on to infinity. The display can be configured to display anything on each key, Photshop short cut keys can be displayed directly to the keys, When playing a game you can turn off all but he keys that you need for the game, The 10 Keys to the left of the main keyboard can be used as quick launch, on the picture above you can see them configured for, Google Mail, Firefox, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and more.

Thanks to engaget.com for this great video.

I attended the event to take some pictures and find out more about the museum of computing, it was great to see so many examples of hardware and software from the 1970's and 1980's the museum itself is very well layed out and is very hands on. Many of the systems had been setup for everyone to use, it was nice to see people of all ages enjoying them and using them as easily as more modern technology, in fact in the 3 hours I was at the event only one system went down (A Nintendo Wii 2007 Console) so much for modern design, here is a few pictures.

I will update this post with some more pictures and more details of how the event went very soon!
